Seven Musicians in George Street

Passion seared its way
in George Street
holding, bathing the most tired
and hasselled
for a time.

Stringed instruments distilling
a sweetness,
a fulness,
searing the senses,
brightening the eyes.

Seven musicians
each blending their gift
into a single new thing,
dispensed freely
for others.

Freshly poured Mozart
amid heat and noise,
traffic, voices, monorail overhead,
tired children.

An open table
cascading enormously
for thirsting souls.
