Mt Pisgah

Deuteronomy 34:1-12
Not that it is cosy
at the risking place,
the hill-top lashed with Holy Winds
and newly born visions
under the ever changing sky.

Shivery,
pummelled
sore eyes, panting breath,
shaky stance in the slanting air
because of the not yet,
sweeping over and through.

Of magnificence.

Of mystery.

Of new insights,
spirited wisdom,
new callings,
ripening myriads of seeds
filled to bursting,
fresh deeds of emerging love.

Of a sheer new beauty,
twisted in unaccustomed ways;
glinting, hinting things
rarely
but so gratefully
glimpsed.
